For a while now I've been secretly enjoying the website of this Dan whom I cannot presume to label an impostor — if anything, I'm his impostor. But I figure I should share the wonder, so here's some recent entries I've particularly enjoyed.

Hehe, those entries are pretty funny. But your website has a distinct advantage: No lame-ass responses. I like the fact that your website is relatively low-traffic (And what traffic you do have is from, at least, partly inteligent people). His site reminds me of a message board; He posts something that was well thought-out and everyone bombards the post with half-witt nonsense.
"Screw him! Throw all the leftover rabbit guts, cat feces..."
As if the author needs *everyones'* response to the situation at hand :) Listen to me, now *I'm* flaming them... bleh. The point is, I don't think you're an impostor at all. Your site is much more supperior :)
On a related note. I liked the idea of your site so much that I secretly yearn for something similar; However, I see thousands of blogs showing up everywhere on the internet. They're like the new thing that will replace message boards. I like the idea of being able to post my thoughts though. Maybe I'll make a rant page where people can't add comments. Or mabye *only* people that I give permission to can post comments. I dunno... What do you think? :)

Hehe, it's interesting that you say that. One part I actually liked was that he seems to have a healthy community of commenters who sometimes say interesting and amusing things in reply to his posts :) Of course, you're definitely right that most of the time the responses are crap :)
As for having a blog of your own, as David Weinberger once said, In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen people. I think that's just a more satisfying situation, and we're seeing a natural progression towards it. Human beings want to create, they want to express themselves. The unfortunately named blog offers the perfect outlet for that desire. I personally really like the idea of my friends blogging. I tried to encourage Jing-ta to set up a CMS and I encourage you to even moreso. And I think the fact that there's so many out there is actually sort of comforting to me. It lets me feel like this is my own intimate little corner of the web mostly populated by my friends and I, and I don't have to feel like I have to entertain random strangers — they're not interested in my blog, there's plenty others out there for them.
Anyway, I definitely think you should set up a CMS of your own, and I look forward to reading it if you do.
