I picked up the Evo from the body shop a week after dropping it off. They did a good job. It's so nice to have the car whole again.
Amy graduated last week, so on Monday night she and Andrés planned to fly down to PR for a two-week visit before going up to Boston to find a place to live. However, their flight out of Chicago was cancelled due to bad weather, and the next flight didn't leave until the next morning, so they had to spend the night there. And apparently, the airline won't give you a hotel room for the night if the flight was cancelled due to weather, so they had to find and pay for one themselves. Fair or unfair? (All) Unfair!
They finally made it down on Tuesday afternoon, but their luggage didn't. Natalia and I waited in the parking garage and took pictures while they filed their claim for missing luggage, and then we went to K-mart to buy them something to wear. Since then, we've been having a good time. Granted, a lot of the fun involves sitting and watching things on TV, but we went out to Old San Juan on Wednesday night, and yesterday we drove out to the Camuy Caverns. I love the peaceful yet eerie quiet of the place.
Natalia seems to have taken an interest in the drums recently, and I've been showing her a few basic patterns to get her started. She picks them up surprisingly quickly. Like all children, she wants to get straight to the playing and refuses to learn the basic techniques like how to properly hold the sticks ("But why can't I just do it the way that's comfortable for me?" "Moving your whole arm like that won't work when you start to play faster." "...I'm just going to do it this way."), but after two days, she's already playing the sixteenth-note hi-hat beat from Eye Of The Tiger (albeit slowly). She seems to have a natural ability. I hope she stays interested in it long enough to get comfortable, so that she can play basic patterns and enjoy them without having to devote her full concentration to getting all the notes right. Once you get to that point, the fun of playing takes over and improvement continues under its own momentum.

That's awesome. You should definately pursuade her as best you can to use proper technique, though. Explain to her that it will work for now but when you start getting into more advanced technique, you'll have to essentially re-learn how to play and that will be a huge obstacle to moving forward. Using your entire arm drains much more energy and you won't have the dexterity to perform one-handed rolls and such :)
