Entries with tag "meej"September 27, 2006 at 3:11 PMThe apartment is starting to feel a bit more liveable. At first I planned to buy cheap crap for it, to kind of replicate the Compound. But after seeing how nice it is, I've been striving for a little bit more orderliness. I remember visiting friends' houses from time to time and using their clean, pure white towels and marveling at the hotel-like feeling of it. I also remember being quite infatuated with Meej's white, fluffy room, and so I've been keeping these things in mind as I do my shopping. My bed is clothed in 600-thread-count sheets and a wonderful, fluffy white comforter, and it's delightful. My towels and shower curtain continue the white theme. I took two days off from work and flew up for Meg's birthday, and Andrés drove down from Orangeburg where he's interning. As expected, it was a really fun weekend. I've just finished posting all the digital photos I took, but I actually used the Holga much more than the digital camera, and I've still got five rolls and two sheets of film to develop. Those will be posted over the coming days. Permalink | Revision: 1 | (1 comment) | Comments are closed for this entry. I want life in every word, to the extent that it's absurdLately I've had a growing interest in experimenting with filmmaking. I'm familiar with the basic editing techniques, so I think I should be able to figure that part out with little trouble. The part that sounds more fun is the shooting itself. The problem, of course, is that unlike photography, filmmaking is more often fictional. You come up with a story and then interpret it for the camera. Photography can more often be about capturing what already exists. Permalink | Revision: 1 | (0 comments) | Comments are closed for this entry. Weekend in CharlestonLast weekend I went to Charleston to visit Jessie. She was having a "Periodic Table Of The Elements" party. The idea for the party is genius, and I had an idea for a fun costume (the excitingly historied-Seaborgium", interpreted as a robotic sea monster) but I ended up not having time to put it together. Jessie took me to Party City and we settled on a Noble Gas. The day was saved. Originally the plan was for Meg and Meej to make the drive from Clemson for the party, but Meej ended up having schoolwork to do, so they couldn't make it.
