Model Airplane
Ahh, dirty and happy
Success! I CAN fly a plane
All set! And now converted to a bush plane to help deal with the tall grass
Other than waiting for the engine cowling
Ready to tackle the skies again!
Elmer's glue and packaging tape
More plastic
DIY repairwork
No! (Not pictured: plane in a tree)
But can I fly it without crashing terribly?
Ahh, I finally have a model airplane again

Solo Cross-Country
Sure, my plane looks tiny compared to everyone else, but how many of those planes were just flown in from a different state by Dan? Only one, baby
Most of the other airplanes parked at Gulfport have a little more power than my little PA28 (1c)

Getting closer
On final approach for runway 13
Hey, sky, why are you all I see
Hey, ground, why are you so vertical
Practicing steep turns at 45° bank

We're airborne
I don't know what kind of plane it is but it's pretty (1c)

Wild Ravens Extreme Air Show
Turbines are so LOUD. And FAST. And sound so COOL.
The stuff they did really was incredible and beautiful. Airplanes are so much more graceful than helicopters. It's too bad film can't convey it.
Then he crashed. (Aren't you not supposed to let the flag touch the ground? I'm a jerk.)
This guy's flight routine was very patriotic. They played "Proud to be an American" and someone ran around waving a flag.
"Roads? Where we're going, we don't need... roads."
Time for a "landing"
And off he went and did a bunch of aerobatics. I was too busy watching to take pictures.
Away!
Most planes showed off by taking off across the runway rather than down it. This guy one-upped them
They did lots of incredible things other than hovering, but this is the only thing that can really be captured in a still image
Back on the ground where you belong
It's amazing the things that can be convinced to fly
Trimming the hedges
I seen a horse fly, I seen a dragon fly, I even seen a house fly. But I ain't ever seen a lawnmower fly. (1c)
A low pass with smoke
Heading out for the pattern flight
I should know the names of these older planes, shouldn't I? Pitts? Stearman? It's one of those.
With a skilled pilot and an overpowered plane, hovering is possible

Rounding out that first guy's collection, a P-51D Mustang
By the end of the day, this plane was to be lost with all hands, somewhere in the property next to the airfield
Someone has a collection of incredibly pretty airplanes. A Cessna 182 and a GP 1/3 scale Christen Eagle II
