Hooray, Exploding Things
This is the 'Flying' part of the Cone-Shaped Wiggly Flying Thing
I don't remember what this was called so I'll dub it the Cone-Shaped Wiggly Flying Thing (1c)
Bottle rockets aren't very impressive on film

This tenth of a mile was very lucky. See you in 700k miles

Purchased Artwork
My first piece of purchased photography -- The Big Tree by local photographer N. Sanchez (1c)
The 40x60 painting, Blues Come Through by Alice Dalton Brown, dwarfs my puny 8x10 and 11x14 prints (1c)

Making Flan
That's right, rest well, my pretties
So much leftover caramel though. I wonder if it will ever come out of there
Look at the caramel sauce dripping alluringly down the side (1c)
The ramekins bake in a "Baño De María"
I made flan, and I must say it's pretty damn delicious

A Proper Darkroom
Seven enlarging lenses, ranging from 35mm up to 162mm, to cover all possible negative sizes
Negative carriers for seven different sizes of film, and a set of filters for color printing or B&W contrast control
The enlarger can print film from 35mm up to 4x5"
My biking taillight makes a great makeshift safelight
Washing facilities
Omega D2 4x5" enlarger, Saunders 11x14" easel, and 11x14" trays (2c)
Step inside
Black cloth keeps the darkroom dark enough for printing even during the day (1c)

Mardi Gras Parade - Orpheus
And then we have a wine-tasting
Our necks weighed down
Maria helps Cat extract herself from her beads
Our modest collection of captured beads (1c)
Bryan and Cat display their bounty for the evening
Although who doesn't like sports cars
That's probably the coolest float ever
Kind of a scary New Years' baby
So it seems parades are just an excuse to venture into the 'gaudy & colorful' section of your wardrobe
Most of the floats in this smaller parade were pulled by tractors
A st eamp-powered calliope. I kind of want one
Hey, that's not a parade float, that's just your car
I don't actually know what Shriners are exactly but apparently it's something silly
Damn! I should have worn my kilt
Light trucks are even more impressive under an overpass
Ahh, a gigantic iced drink will help ward off this freezing weather
Maria seems quite ready for waffles too
Dan at his happiest -- waiting for food at Waffle House (2c)

Geocaching
Booty!
It's too bad you aren't allowed to take the log itself, because that's an awesome looking notebook
Arrr
Arr, we've found treasure
The cache!
A wildlife camera. What's it looking at?
What's that?
Searching for the cache
Decoding the message
A stone marker with a message encoded in Rot-13
On our way to the second waypoint

Covington Graveyard
All the oldest gravestones from the mid-1800s are in French. Covington seems to have been populated primarily by French settlers at that point.
Born Nov 8, 1890. Died June 15, 1891. My only child. Rest in peace.
Hmm
Someone cheaped out on their gravestone

Bryan & Matt's Birthday Surprise Party
Photography, too, ensues
Matt serenades Laura angrily (while an anonymous, helpful stranger points out the guitarist for you)
PHoooooooo!!
Aaaaaaaahhh---
Happy birthday, be-hatted ones
Not content to simply get Laura's cell phone number, Jaeden makes a play for the phone itself
Mass soloing ensues
Tallest Guitar Player In The World gazes into your soul
Tallest Guitar Player In The World
Dan and Laura are amused
John and Jackie hang out where the real action is: By the Elmo chair
Even with cupcake all over his face, Jaeden is still cute as hell
Dan tries to strangle Jaeden, I guess
Matt opens presents while muttering to himself in a Russian accent
Laura and Reclining Eric, The Guy Who Should Be A Metal Drummer
Jaeden found my flash quite intriguing
Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!

Before long, Bryan is out cold
Dan prepares his noxious-looking concoction
Dan throws the 'burgers' on the grill

Jaeden
Jaeden has an interesting way of saying hello
But is equally affected by the melancholy ballads
Jaeden seems delighted by the music we play

Rennaissance Fair
A dagger joins my collection as well

Some sort of lower-order demon (2c)
The ferryman waits to carry customers across the lake
The blacksmith practicing his craft, while his apprentice looks on
Bows, scrimshaw, and alchemy!
We're at the entrance and already I'm giggling

Two things I've never owned before: a christmas tree and a road bike
A wall for photography
The porch is a pleasant place to sit and read (2c)
The Jackson is back! (Thanks Bryan). Also, I finally have an amp that I can hear over drums
The 22" widescreen LCD certainly helps in that respect
The computer setup has evolved. It's a comfortable place to work.
And my own bookshelf! Somewhere to keep all my books! Sweet. Now I just need my books.
Now I have somewhere for guests to sleep
