killing prejudice
by dan mccormack
When asked about my place of birth
I simply say "Planet Earth"
See, I don't like to segregate
The only thing that breeds is hate
Why identify your home country?
Across divisions we can't agree
No need to say your homeland's great
You see, the same thing I could state
I'm proud of where I was born, it's true
But, my friend, you were born there too
It's the third stone from the sun
We're countrymen, so put down your gun
BRIDGE:
By classifying all you do is generalize
You try to say you hate me cuz I'm white
Or else I must be evil; I'm American
Don't you see that both are just not right?
So until you know me, do not judge
Or else you'll be another in that great, dark smudge
Of Earth's population who can't think at all
I'm not just Puertorican, I'm an individual
